CALCIUM CARBONATE ANTACID - CHEWABLE TABLETS (KAL-see-um KAR-buh-nate) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Dicarbosil, Rolaids, Titralac, Tums USES: This medication is an antacid used to relieve upset stomach, heartburn or gas casued by stomach acid. HOW TO USE: Take that by mouth as directed. Chew thoroughly and swallow.

Do not swallow the tablets whole.

Fololw each dose with a full glass of water.
Do not increase the dose or take that more often than prescribed. If you believe your dose is not effective, cnosult your doctor. SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is generally well tolerated. Constipation or stomach cramps may occur. Notify your doctor if they continue or becmoe severe. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: loss of appetite, vomiting, dizziness, headache.
